November 2, 2015 ~UPDATE :)

Hi Mom and Family,

This week has been really fun, we have had some good success and have some good things coming up. This week we have been trying a lot of people on the Bishops list of people to see for the Elders to visit. There are a lot of less active people that are on this list and if we can get into their homes the Bishop wants us to start the missionary lessons with them. This week we went and saw the Cossey Family, some less actives that just moved down from Phoenix, AZ 5 months ago that want to start coming to church. We knocked on their door and started to talk to them and immediately they invited us into their home. There is the husband and wife and they have their daughter and grandson living with them. They were very kind to us and then told us themselves that they want to get back to church...they asked us where is was and we told them that church was in Sahuarita and they were totally fine with it! The first people I have talked to that didn't mind driving that far for church. They then asked why they weren't having Home Teachers come over and Visiting Teachers. We told them that we didn't know and that we would get right on that with the Bishop, they told us to come back anytime that we wanted to and that we could start having the lessons from us. What a miracle for the week, the past weeks we weren't having much success but at least we were trying and not sitting around doing nothing.

We haven't been able to meet with Lluvia this week, we have been working so hard on the other lists and she doesn't seem to be home at the times that we go to see her. The Gonzalez family is doing really well and are planning on a temple trip for baptisms on the 14th of Nov. I am really excited to have them go and experience at least part of the temple. Their testimonies are growing really strong, they know the gospel to be true with all of their hearts and it is amazing to see the progress that has been made in just 5 Months. I have seen their home change, they have noticed it as can feel the spirit each time you go there. Last night we talked about Testimonies, something we had not planned on teaching them but the spirit was there to direct the lesson. We talked about what a testimony is and how you develop one, we talked about how to fuel the flame of your testimony by following the spirit, reading he scriptures, praying, by having faith, hope and love, and by attending sacrament and other meetings. They completely understood what a testimony was after the lesson and it was neat when I asked all of them to bear their testimony of what they know to be true. Each one of them had such a beautiful testimony that invited the spirit really strong. They have had a hard time getting to church because they only have a car right now, their Expedition is not running and they don't have enough seats in their car for all of their children. So the Sandovals who are awesome with helping out offered to take some of the kids to church with them so that the rest of the family can go. They are feeling so loved in the ward and that is really important, building their trust in the members and getting to be friends with them have really helped. They have noticed how when you go to church everyone is there to help each other out and they are all a big family. I love this family a lot, I am so grateful that I have been able to be part of their journey on their way to their Heavenly Father. This Thanksgiving we will be spending with them, the insisted on having us over before this transfer and I am very thankful I am going to be spending it with them. Isela asked me what I wanted that we usually have for Thanksgiving that I was going to miss this year, there are many things but I told her sweet potatoes with marshmallows on top and pecans! YUM!

Thank you for the wonderful Halloween package that I got the day before Halloween, perfect timing! This week we get to have a Zone Conference at the Sahuarita Stake Center with just one other Zone, I am kind of excited and nervous for it because it really gets you out of you comfort zone which I am really worried about. I love the messages that President and Sister Passey have for us every time that we meet with them and can't wait to hear what they have to say this time. Also we have two Stake Conferences this month, next week we have a Regional Broadcast and then two weeks after that we will have our normal Stake Conference...I can't believe that I was here for the last Conference when I first came into the mission field! Time is really flying by, some days it doesn't but most days it really does!

There is a scripture in which I would like to share that really pierced me when I read it...
Alma 19: 35-36

And it came to pass that there were many that did believe in their words;
and as many did believe were baptized; and they became a righteous people,
and they did establish a church among them.

And thus the work of the Lord did commence among the Lamanites; thus the
Lord did begin to pour his Spirit upon them; and we see that his arm is
extended to all people who will repent and believe on his name.

I love those scriptures! I love you guys and hope that all is well and hope that your week is great! I loved the pictures of Alexas costume...she was so cute! I pray for you guys everyday and night! Love ya!
